Thanks to the hard work of Kim Krisp, the Chair of our Board of Trustees, we have a real and official book drop. Now it is easier and more convenient to return your books and videos to the library!

Dedication Ceremony on May 26

Our new Children’s Room was dedicated on Saturday, May 26th. Board of Trustee members Kim Krisp and Win Fream spoke of their appreciation on the gift from Mrs. Bobbie Byrne. With help from her bequest, our addition was made possible. We have also refurbished our Reading Room and added the book collection of Mrs. Bryne. Thank you!

Phillips Exeter students help out

In honor of Earth Day, five students and a teacher from Phillips Exeter Academy came to the Paul Memorial Library on April 25th as a service project. They worked hard on cleaning up our back yard. Thank you!

We were Flamingo Flocked!

A Great Pancake Breakfast!

Welcome to our new Director, Pam Burch

I am very pleased to join the staff at the Paul Memorial Library. My passion for public libraries began with weekly trips to the Penfield Public Library in New York state when I was very young. After reading most of the children’s section, I remember how exciting it was to move upstairs to the regular collection! I have enjoyed working in a variety of library environments – corporate, special, elementary schools and public. Most recently, I was the Library Director for a small academic library. It was always my hope to return to the public sector, so I feel fortunate to be here. I live in West Newbury, MA with my husband, David Ives and our two cats. We have two sons – Graham recently graduated from college and lives in Chicago and Spencer attends Western New England University in Springfield, MA.

Did you know as library users and residents of Newfields, N.H. you are entitled to access subscription databases including the New Hampshire Union Leader and the Concord Monitor newspaper banks? The State Library also subscribes to Health Source, ERIC (Educational Resource Information Center) for Education professionals, and a number of EBSCOHost databases including Academic Search Premier, MAS Ultra, Middlesearch, Searchasaurus as well as Novelist. Looking for a book review, or a good book to read, ask about searching Novelsit! We have the passwords, all you need to do is ask!!

NH Ladybug Picture Book Award announces 2011 winner!

The NH Ladybug Picture Book Award committe recently announced the 2011 Award winner. Preschoolers tell your Moms to be on the look out for Memoirs of a Goldfish by Devin Scillian which will soon be available at PML library!
