Our policies are designed to address the needs of our patrons and encourage use of our collection.
Borrowing Periods

Renewals
Borrowers may renew library materials for another standard loan period if the materials are not on a reserve list. Materials may be renewed for up to two additional loan periods after the initial loan period.
If another patron requests overdue material, a phone call or email may be sent to request that the item is returned.
Overdue Materials
The library does not charge overdue fines but will accept voluntary contributions to the “Donation Jar” located on the circulation desk.
Overdue notices are automatically generated by our Integrated Library System (ILS), Apollo in the form of friendly email reminders.
If patrons fail to return their materials to the library, they may be blocked from borrowing new items.
Lost or Damaged Materials
When materials are returned damaged or missing disks, patrons will be asked to pay the replacement costs. Exceptions can be made if it is determined that the material is too old or outdated to be worth the cost of replacement.
Parents or guardians are responsible for fines or charges incurred by their minor children.
Non-residents of Newfields
Non-residents who wish to borrow materials from our library must pay a $20.00 fee per year.
Teachers and others who work in Newfields are allowed library privileges free of charge.
