Our circulation policies are designed to best suit the needs of our patrons. Overall, we would like our policies to encourage the use of our collection – the goal being materials are best utilized when they are checked out and not on our shelves.
Books and audios may be checked out of the library for a three-week borrowing period.
DVDs and magazines may be checked out of the library for a two-week borrowing period.
New DVDs can be checked out for a one-week period.
The telescope may be checked out for of the library for a one-week period.
If another patron requests overdue material, a phone call or email may be sent to request that the item is returned sooner than the due date.
Borrowers may renew library materials for another standard loan period if the materials are not on a reserve list. Materials may be renewed for up to two additional loan periods after the initial loan period.
The library does not charge overdue fines but will accept voluntary contributions to the “Donation Jar” located on the circulation desk.
Overdue notices are automatically generated by our Integrated Library System (ILS), Apollo in the form of friendly email reminders.
When materials are returned damaged or missing disks, patrons will be asked to pay the replacement costs. Exceptions can be made if it is determined that the material is too old or outdated to be worth the cost of replacement.
Parents or guardians are responsible for fines or charges incurred by their minor children.
If patrons fail to return their materials to the library, they may be blocked from borrowing new items.
