

Come to the library on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10:30am – 12pm for a hands-on workshop led by cartoonist Marek Bennett. Learn basic comic techniques including layouts, panels, penciling, and inking to draw your very own monster comics.
The workshop will run approximately 1 ½ hours with an informal “publishing party” after where Bennett will build a mini-comic from the pages the group created.
Kids, teens, and adults of all ages welcome. No experience or artistic ability required.

About Marek Bennett

NH-based cartoonist, musician, and educator Marek Bennett leads discovery-based Comics Workshops for all ages throughout New England and the world beyond!
His comics work includes the graphic novel series, The Civil War Diary of Freeman Colby, as well as drawing, translating, & editing for The Most Costly Journey (2021) with the bilingual El Viaje Project. His crowd-funded cartoon travel memoirs include Sharjah Sketchbook (2020) and SLOVAKIA: Fall in the Heart of Europe (2013).
Marek is the recipient of the 2021 New Hampshire Governor’s Arts Award for Art Education.
