Join us this summer for our 2022 Summer Reading Program: Oceans of Possibilities!

Our Summer Reading Program for all ages (birth to adults!) begins on June 11th!

We will be tracking sign ups and points virtually through the online reading platform “Reader Zone” (available on desktop or via the Reader Zone app).

Download the ReaderZone app, create an account, and select “Newfields Summer Reading Challenge 2022,” with code baafb to get started!

If you’ve used the ReaderZone app last summer, your account will be ready, you’ll just have to wait for our program to officially start on June 11th.

There are five different reading groups (click on your group link for details on signing up):

Here’s how it works…

  1. Download the Reader Zone app for your AppleAndroid or Amazon device.
  2. Create your account and add reader(s).
  3. Join the Newfields Summer Reading program with the code  baafb
  4. Log your reading all summer through the app.
  5. If you don’t have a mobile device, you can sign up at the Reader Zone website.
  6. The top reader in each group will win a grand prize. 6 raffle prizes will be awarded to Kids K-6. And readers who complete hours on the treasure map will earn prizes along the way (plus a special prize at X marks the spot).

*Earn raffle tickets for signing up, hitting reading milestones, and participating in library events. The more you read and the more you join in the fun, the more chances to win!

Kids Treasure Maps

This year we’ll also have a special treasure map for readers to plot their hours and earn extra prizes. (Pre-K to Grade 6)

Fill in one space for each hour you read this summer (track the minutes on the app). Earn a token for every 7 hours read, which can be traded in for prizes from the treasure chest + a raffle to enter into the bucket drawings.

Pick up a map at the circulation desk and bring it with you to redeem your prizes.

Make it all the way to X marks the spot and you will earn a personal pizza!

Download the app and track your reading:

Scroll below to your reading age group for more details on creating an account and tracking reading through the Reader Zone app. If you have any questions or issues, call, email, or visit the library for assistance.
